Obtain permanent residence for more flexibility in your life in Sweden and take the final step leading to citizenship
Important things to keep in mind
Family members (dependents) can only become permanent residents once the main permit holder is granted permanent residence.
You may only apply for permanent residence through an application for an extension or a set amount of time before your current permit expires.

Must have had a residence permit in Sweden for at least three years

Have met the allowed minimum income level
Your employment must meet all the conditions of Swedish collective agreements or similar
Have had a work permit for at least four years

Still able to support yourself financially

Show that you run the business and continue to have decisive influence
Have the necessary permits for businesses and comply with accounting principles
You’re able to support yourself and your family with your income from the business
Your business is profitable
Have held a residence permit as a self-employed person for at least two years
Must have a well-behaved life

Must have lived in Sweden for a total of four years in seven years with a permit for doctoral studies and/or work permit
Must plan to live in Sweden
Be able to support yourself financially
Must live a well-behaved life
Have employment or own business in Sweden
