Important things to keep in mind
The processing times of permits such as self-employment can reach up to two years and is quite inconsistent. There is also a difference in processing times between different fields of work.

Meet the minimum salary threshold
If you wish to bring family members:
Meet the financial requirement through income or funds

Have sufficient experience in your field and running own business
Have sufficient knowledge of Swedish or English
Own at least 51% of the business
Have a credible basis for your budget
Must have established customer contacts or networks
Be able to support yourself financially
Have enough funds to run the business
If you wish to bring family members:
Meet the financial requirements through own funds

Have a valid passport
You must have completed studies equivalent to 60-credit Master’s degree, a 120-credit Master’s degree, a professional degree worth 60–330 credits, or a postgraduate/PhD-level degree
Be looking for employment or seek to start your own business
Be able to support yourself with own funds
Have comprehensive insurance in Sweden
Currently be outside of Sweden
