Important things to keep in mind
Depending on which visa you apply for, the processing times can be lengthy. Additionally, due to a limit on certain visa categories, there is an additional wait for visa availability.

K-1 fiancé(e) visa
Permanent residence for immediate relatives: spouse, children (unmarried and under 21), parents
Permanent residence for other family members: sons and daughters (married and/or over 21), siblings (if you are 21 or over)

Spouse
Unmarried child under the age of 21
Unmarried son or daughter over the age of 21

Most work visas allow for accompanying family (spouse and/or children)

Your spouse and/or children may apply for a visa to come with you (F or M visa)
This is not the case for J visa applicants
